How this Chinese learning platform handles your information.
Information we collect
When you create an account we store your email address, a display name, and the role you sign up with (teacher or student). You can also use the app as a guest, which creates a temporary anonymous account with no email address. As you use the app we store the learning content you create: classes, documents, assignments, vocabulary, quiz submissions, messages, the school or organization you join, and your coin and credit balances.
How we use it
Your data is used to run the product: to show your classes and materials, grade and track assignments, power chat, and keep score of coins, streaks, and AI credits. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.
AI features
Some features, such as quiz generation, example sentences, word meanings, and images, send the text you provide to a third-party AI provider (Google Gemini) so it can generate a response. Only the content needed for that request is sent. When AI is not configured, the app falls back to a built-in mock generator and nothing leaves the app.
Cookies, security, and abuse prevention
We use a small amount of technical data to keep accounts secure and prevent abuse. A device identifier is kept in a cookie so each device can create only one free guest account, and a one-way hashed form of your network address limits how many guests a single network can create per day. When sign-in protection is enabled, we record failed sign-in attempts so repeated wrong passwords can trigger a temporary lockout. If a captcha is enabled, sign-in and sign-up may send a challenge to Cloudflare Turnstile to confirm you are not a bot. We do not use these signals for advertising or for tracking you across other sites.
Class data and visibility
Teachers can see the work students submit in their classes, and members of a class can see shared materials and announcements. If you join a school or organization, its owners and admins can see membership and usage in order to manage the group and its shared credits. When you edit a shared document at the same time as other people, they can see your presence and cursor in that document. Administrators can see accounts and usage in order to operate the platform. Direct messages are visible to the people in the conversation.
Coins and credits
Coins and AI credits are in-app values with no cash value. They cannot be purchased with real money, exchanged for money, or transferred off the platform.
Your choices
You can edit your profile at any time from Settings. If you would like your account and its data removed, contact us and we will delete it. Deleting a class permanently removes its materials, assignments, and student work.
